Middle School Handbook

Orcas Island Middle School, home of the Falcons, is comprised of two grades, 7th and 8th. Although enrollment changes with each class the average class size is between 60 and 80 students. Each grade is made up of a teaching team that includes, an integrated Language Arts/Social Studies class along with Math and Science instruction. A full-time special education program is available for qualifying students. All students receive instruction in physical education and life skills each year. As electives, the middle school curriculum also includes art, sailing, computer applications, theater, spanish, culinary arts, study skills, leadership, band, and strings.
